Actually, the dizzy stayed nice and dry, as did the plug wires, boots, and terminals. It was the half moon clip on the coil that was getting wet. The 12v, tach, and ground wires.

Oil filled coils have a lot going against them which is why Jeep switched to epoxy Diamond Japan coils. The early design was a direct replacement for the can style as pictured. I'd convert it to an epoxy filled unit instead of tinkering with the old coil.

Morning!

I had some time over the weekend to install the CB in my XJ, it came out pretty good. I still have to tune the antenna (had to get a new SWR meter) and I might have the radio tuned as well to squeeze a little more out of it. I used the JCR Offroad antenna mount, a 4' Firestick II antenna and a Uniden Pro520XL radio.

Super easy to install, I went with the Firestick II antenna, just screw the end under the red cap in or out to tune. I paid $19.99 for the SWR meter, it's all you need to tune it.

About time those purists/"elitists" chose a 4cyl model over a 4.0! Congrats.

lmao yeah I was starting to feel bad for him for a second, then he responded again and never came back. My buddy Tobias said he was probably going outside to throw mud on it for the dirt pics we were trying to get
