A D44 Trac-Loc (LSD) will not fit a ChryCo 8.25. Good news is, the Trac-Loc came in a lot of 8.25's and there are a bunch in the yards by me (Southern Blvd & Benoist Farms Rd). A whole axle costs me 120 bucks. So if you find what you need, let me know.

Also find some of my crew on Instagram at Palmbeachjeeps. Vince, Brandon and I have the only MJs. The rest are XJ, ZJ, WJ and a few Wranglers.

On another note, the Diesel swap is starting this fall after Jeeptoberfest.
Added the IG account, thanks for the heads up. My buddy is Matt V. We both work in the same Engineering circles.

I will set a date and head up to the yards near you, thanks for the advice.

Swapping in a Diesel from one of the few GC's that got it? Or even better one from VWgate? Plan to do a write up of the swap? Would be cool to follow the progress.

Your better off buying new online...they are only going for $200 for the carrier and $100 for the clutch packs
You know I had a feeling he was...specialty yards usually are from my VW exp.

I will check out the new ones online, Thanks.

Great forum so far. I should probably venture out more to actually meet some of you lol.

Just activated my new account about an hour ago. Outlawstar38.

Got my hands on a 1986 Mercedes OM617 3.0L Turbo Diesel.

As for engineering, I've been in it for 19yrs for both civilian and military. Geotech/Constructiin Engineering. I get paid to play in the dirt.

It would be better and cheap to go to a spartin lunch box locker. No clutches you have to worry about. Im going to put on in my d35 after a while.

P.s. i alsp added palmbeachjeeps on instagram as well.

They work pretty well. Just an ocassional click/pop noise as all lunchboxes do. You'd be surprised how many trails you can go on down here in 2WD. Traction and good tires make a big difference. Only thing 2WD will have trouble in is mud.

Rust411 on youtube. Runs 36s on his cherokee i think he has both spartan lockers front and rear. He never has a problem and he goes threw crazy mub up there in ocala. I dont see why you would have a prpblem with them on a 2wd and dd.

Another good thing about the spartins on a d35 is you dont even need tp pull the whole gear and carrier out to install them. Just slide the axles out a little and pull the spiders out the put back in the spartin. Thats what alot pf people do from what ive seen on youtube. Since ive been doing my research on them.

His is 4WD, Luke's is 2WD. Lol
A D35 is an ok axle (if taken care of) but down the line, you might want to get an 8.25. The 35's weak point is it's small carrier and the C-clips.

Not saying you will die a horrible death with a 35 as I ran one with 31's for a while. It was just meant for on road driving much like the D44A in the GC's.

Yep doing the 1 wheel squeal right now lol

Saved the info on the Spartan for my 8.25. Thanks again for the useful information.

Still like the idea of getting the entire axle from U Pull for $120. Little elbow grease is worth the $$

You might as well pull a np231 and a axle off a 4x4 cherokee for a couple hundred more and make it 4x4. Will be more fun in the long run.

Rather buy a beater to do offroading in. Current one is too nice IMO and is only staying around for a cpl years then I'll sell to my old man.

Best thing is, XJs are everywhere and cheap. Hell, I have a spare 86 LWB MJ rolling chassis (no engine or trans) I've had sitting around for 3yrs now.
