Anyone interested in an LS1 short block? Might just sell this damn thing off as the kid dropped it off in my garage about two years ago.
No, I don't lick fish.

Yes, it's bad, you can see on the left where the head gasket let go, they kept running it. Trying to debate fixing it or not. The motor only has 87k on it....it's a shame....

It has a hole in the #6 piston. The head looks fine actually, checked it with a straight edge. I could probably hone the cylinder and replace the piston, don't know if the rod could be tweaked though.

Even the old rings will do fine if they are not broken, they will reseat with the new hand hone.
"Unorthodox?... Absolutely!" lol
Can't count how many times this has worked for me over the years as long as the cylinder is NOT scored.

Im trying to figure out what size tires to uprade too. After the lift and the cutting i did, the 31s i got are looking a little on the small side now.... im also trying to figure out what gear set to get. I want to go to 4.88s but i also want to over gear if i decide to just go up to 33s. But it would alow me to go up to 35s and 37s later on.

With that trim it looks like you could squeeze 33's on there. My old '92 Laredo ran just fine on stock 3.55 gears and 33's. IMHO, if you want to re-gear for 33's, I'd go 4.10, for 35's 4.56 and for 37's 4.88

Morning guys.
33's would be perfect. You can test fit mine to see how they look.
Gary, sorry for the loss brother.
Walt, hope they warranty that joint.
Now, anyone else notice everyone selling their XJs to buy JunK's instead? Everyday I see more "19xx XJ For Sale!"

I have noticed that.....I wouldn't own a JunK. I've owned a TJ I bought new in 2000, wouldn't mind having another one some day. (still not going away from XJ's though)
