so i thought i had fixed my over heating issue with a thermostat and temp sensor, but i was proven wrong this evening. after about 45 minutes of running, the temp gauge was pegged in the red. it was quite random. i went from a good temp to over heating in about 30 seconds and when i opened the hood, the coolant was boiling. i should have known better than to put the car back together after seeing this...

it's hard to tell, but that orange color is thickly caked on there and almost feels like clay. i flushed the system, but i have a feeling the radiator is probably shot. so now i'll be trying the water pump and radiator as well as flushing the system again. i decided to just go ahead and do the water pump while i have the cooling system pulled apart. i'm gonna try to flush the heater core as well as i can, but i don't know if that will work or not. also it doesn't seem to over heat while i have the heater on, but i didn't want to run it for too long, so i didn't fully test that. if anyone has any other thoughts i'd be happy to hear them.

Both fans are factory and the electric one kicks on as soon as it hits operating temp or the ac is turned on, but I guess if the radiator and water pump don't work the fans will be next.
