Went to drive to campus which is about a 1mile drive under 30mph. Got pulled over for not having shocks absorbers. Also a hanging e brake cable, and 37s in the back and donuts up front. And my rear tires almost rubbing fender. And not having "struts". No tickets but I will get like 20 tickets if he sees me again driving. I guess that means no more Taco Bell runs.
Good thing he didnt notice I was frontwheeldrive, or the lack of cats/exhaust.

so my misfire is back again and this time it's not heat soak. and the engine is quite pissed off. i'm starting to get really anoyed with itnow so i'm just going to take it over to my friend's shop and let him deal with it for now. it was running fine on friday then i started it up saturday morning and it was missing. as of today it hasn't gotany better, but it hasn't gotten worse either. still missing on cyl 1.
on a happy note. the jeep made it through lots of deep water yesterday durring the storm. all the back roads near my house flood really bad and i went through at least a foot and a half of water with it. couldn't see the road for most of the time and ended up off the road a couple times over by chaminade highschool. thats were the worst of the flooding was. the jeep did quite well even with the misfire. the belt did slip a couple of times though and the alternator stopped working for a minute, but it didn't die on me.

the belt slip might have bent a valve and have you checked your cap and plugs? wires even
mine is running like crap great when it wants to but like crap others, o2 sensors for the problem so unless you got a check motor light I would check that stuff tune up time

just recently did the tune up. new cap, rotor, wires, plugs, cooling system (literally replaced all of it), and some other stuff i cant remember everything. the misfire started again before i used it as a boat though. i have 784 injectors on the way now though, we'll see if that helps any. if it doesn't, i'm giving up and my friend is gonna get to deal with it.

Take off your fuel rail, and move the #1 injector to the #2 position and visa versa. If it misfires in cylinder #2 now, you know it is a clogged/damaged injector. If it continues to miss in cylinder #1, it is probably electrical. Are you 100% sure that you have the plug wires connected in the proper order? It is stamped on the intake manifold.
Did your tune up include a TPS? Our computers can do some strange things when the TPS acts up. It could be low fuel pressure as well, maybe a partially clogged filter?

No, thanks though. I'm using my friend's spare off the back of his Wrangler. My tire is fine, I just need to clean all the mud off of it and have it re-seated. Or better yet, have all of them pulled off, and put on my Jeep Snowflake rims so I can sell them as a set and put some 33" tires on my D windows. Although the wheels are only 15", and lately there have been a bunch of JK wheel/tire combos for sale cheap in Orlando. Stock they work out to 32". I'm not afraid to run conversion spacers. I've decided no more heavy duty mud for me, it is becoming a trail vehicle only.

morning everyone
I thought he might be talking about a timing belt, but i had to ask to make sure it wasn't something strange with these motors.
anywho, to give a little back story to the misfire; when i bought it i did a complete tune up. it was running a little rough before then ran great after. then the misfire started. i narrowed itdown to heat soak so i put on a hood spacer kit. engine ran like new for a while then all of the sudden a few days ago it starts missing again as soon as i started it up still on cyl 1. i have spark so i'm suspecting fuel issue, compression issue, or stuck valve. as soon as i get the chance i'm gonna do a fuel pres test and compression test. i went ahead and ordered the injectors anyway just to put the upgraded ones in. it would be great if that fixed it, but i'm thinking it will take more than that.
I'm guessing that he thinks that it has a timing belt rather than a timing chain. But I'm not sure this is an interference motor anyway.
