OK so as I stated before.... I had a serious knocking in my engine and my XJ was driving about as fast and powerful as a ford festiva.
My buddy did a compression test and it showed full psi in all cyl except #3
Then I took it to a place called S.O.S. near me in SNJ and they said 3 of my cyl were f'ed up, and that I would need all new valves plus other things etc for over 1000 bucks.....
THEN..... I took it to "The Repair Shop" on Rt 73 in Berlin NJ on the advice of another friend, and they confirmed that the 1st compression test was accurate, took the Jeep over night and had it back to normal the next morning for just over 200 bucks. Two valve springs were replaced.
So..... Beware of scumbags who lie to rip you off....
AND a big old thumbs up to Bill at "The Repair Shop" on Rt. 73 in Berlin . He had 2 other lifted Jeeps and a bunch of 4x4 vehicles in the lot.... I recommend them for sure.

Wow. Before I knew anything about my baby, I had an awful rattling and shaking in the steering wheel. Took it down the street to Rising Sun motors on a friend's recommendation and they said it was a cracked nut on the steering column, would cost me $500+ to repair for man hours. The next day took it to another place, got an alignment, and it was fine.
Some mechanics are great, they get it. Some just suck. I need to find a good one again!
