Squirreling my money away when I worked in the mills helped, big step down from $90000 yr to $65000 yr.
Side work is what keeps my Jeeps moving forward

My plan is just to cut em flush with the rear quarter where it's been cut n folded. I need to do it to the drivers side too so they match. I though about using the section I'm going to cut off along with some heat and epoxy to seal up the bottom. I should be able to use the scrap plastic to do it.
I know what you mean. We aren't struggling, but my wife does put a pretty strict limit on my spending at times. It helps that I have military benefits coming in as well though. If I made the money I do anywhere else but here my jeep would be done and I could afford a new project. Alas, I save and do a little at a time, fawking Maryland!

Problem is...there were more positions in Ohio....and I am having trouble finding work that makes enough to survive. Some jobs I am better off not taking and staying on the unemployment.

I moved here because of the income...I was little star struck. Coming from Ohio, making that for what I do was unheard of.

I hear you there. My job in Michigan or Ohio is generally a mid 20/hour job, which is pretty damn good for that area, but here a mid 30/hour job means you barely break even. This area is not worth what everyone thinks it is. What the house I'm renting is valued at would buy you 3 times the house out west, and have better scenery and better places to wheel. Hence the reason I'm working on finishing my Aeronautical engineering degree and then moving to Utah. I can make twice the money I do now and live in twice the house and have half the amount of bills I do now, sounds good to me.
As long as you don't mind the Mormons....I lived in Idaho for a while. It was very very nice...especially if you love the outdoors, but a little weird.
