I have a family of 3 which makes it easier.....
Squirreling my money away when I worked in the mills helped, big step down from $90000 yr to $65000 yr.
Side work is what keeps my Jeeps moving forward

I see.... my only fear is that once you cut the flare off, wouldn't it then be hollow on that one end? Guess you could cut it off and stuff the end you cut off up into the flare and melt or rivet it together or something, but that's your call. Interested to see what you do with it though. This delema is the main reason I'm building my flares out of steal from scratch.

I know what you mean. We aren't struggling, but my wife does put a pretty strict limit on my spending at times. It helps that I have military benefits coming in as well though. If I made the money I do anywhere else but here my jeep would be done and I could afford a new project. Alas, I save and do a little at a time, fawking Maryland!

I moved here because of the income...I was little star struck. Coming from Ohio, making that for what I do was unheard of.

Problem is...there were more positions in Ohio....and I am having trouble finding work that makes enough to survive. Some jobs I am better off not taking and staying on the unemployment.

It never used to be this way until the economy tanked and O'Malley took office

Family of 5 and I'm the only one that works. I make between $65000 and $70000. Gotta find ways to cut and learn to live below your means. When my wife was working we were pulling in close to 100k. Big difference. My wife is also a genius with food. We only have a $500/month budget for food. This is why my jeep doesn't get built. Lol.

I hear you there. My job in Michigan or Ohio is generally a mid 20/hour job, which is pretty damn good for that area, but here a mid 30/hour job means you barely break even. This area is not worth what everyone thinks it is. What the house I'm renting is valued at would buy you 3 times the house out west, and have better scenery and better places to wheel. Hence the reason I'm working on finishing my Aeronautical engineering degree and then moving to Utah. I can make twice the money I do now and live in twice the house and have half the amount of bills I do now, sounds good to me.

As long as you don't mind the Mormons....I lived in Idaho for a while. It was very very nice...especially if you love the outdoors, but a little weird.
