when we got that really thick snow last winter, i was working at BWI airport...dunno if any of you have been there, but i was working at the parking lots, at the express lot, aka ESP ( express service parking ) and when i got there, all power was out from the long term lots straight up aviation blvd to the daily garage and esp...i spent half the night in Anya with the heat full blast, listening to the radio, because there was no power to my booth, and thus no heat.
they had the gate open, i just had to take the tickets and cash, they had ONE plug running from the generator that provided light, and that went to the register. i had to run every ticket manually, and credit cards i had to knuckle bust every single one of them...fortunately, so many flights were cancelled, i only got like 5 people all night, from 11P to 7A. they finally got the power back on around 4AM, but damn was that a crazy trip.
oh, and 2 more fun facts. wjz had said, and i quote " by 6 o clock, it seemed like the snow, would never end. " im just like wtf, we got like a foot...no biggie. i had fun with Anya that night on my break, lol.
fact 2, prior to going in to work, i stopped by the local dominos ( i was supposed to start work there a few days later, but stuff happened ) and their power was out, so i had to help them transfer a jeepful of pizza dough to the linthicum store, where they still had power. and on the way there almost got hit by a light rail train because the crossing gates were all jacked up so we couldnt tell if one was coming or not...thank god Anyas brakes worked...all in all, a GREAT night for me, lol.

All I know is my school in Cleveland only closed for three reasons: Pipes burst, power outage, or temperatures below -10 degrees. The last one was because some of the students walked 2 miles to school and back. And we still got homework assigned to us on the website when there was a 'snow' day.

I was stationed at F E Warren AFB in Cheyenne, Wyoming. First time ever that I went 4 wheeling (1984 Ford Ranger) in '86, I buried my truck in an 8' (Yes, that is foot) snowdrift.
I learned real fast to look at the snow fences before going down a hill...
Getting ready to hop in the shower, get a cup of java and head on down the road, see you guys going @ 9AM

damn, back in GA people would freak out about a forecast, but it never snowed. And if it did it wouldn't last an hour and the little dust would be all melted. Nothing like up here. The best snow that i have experienced though was in S. Korea...A record year for snow when i was over there....Too bad we couldn't have our vehicles over there...
and as for today i am at work, and will not be able to make it out...booo
Have fun and be safe guys.

Man I lived in CO for about a year and went to school. I got all excited cause they said it was gonna snow like 3 feet. Woke up the next morning n the school bus came by with a plow n chains on!!! I was like that can't be legal n my uncle say what that happens all the time most of the bus drivers are highway workers in the area so why close.

I grew up in upstate NY - same thing. School wouldn't be canceled unless we got at least 2 feet of snow, or the roads were a sheet of ice from freezing rain.

we used to have snow storms there that would reach 2nd story of the house, we had an outhouse so we used to build snow tunnels to get there. the benefitial thing was, our "fridge": was outside, so food stayed plenty cold.
Georgia, lol, no snow there, but it always rained, on the other side of the street, that was always kinda weird. No plumbing there til just a few years ago, swamp water and well water. not real great.

I have a lead on a set of 33s, but he's in Holland, PA by Philly. It's a 3.5 hour drive each way from here, and I'm wondering if someone closer could pick them up for me. I'll take them from you next time we meet, and of course, I'd throw you some gas money for the effort.
