Think I found out why my transfer case blew.... now to figure out what happened
I'm thinking it may have been rebuilt once before going by the amount of RTV on the cover, and some dumbass overtorqued

Derp de derp........some people. You should have seen the amount of rtv that was in the thermostat housing on Russo's (silentj's) XJ. It was absurd, even the thermostat had it caked inside

I know it was rebuilt by PO, had breaker bar in hand to drop skid, and bolts were hand tight, go figure
Good thing is that it only took me 45 minutes to drop, should be in and out of C/R's tomorrow in record time

I didn't do it, PO did. Take stock airbox out, and get someone to make a bracket up for you. Mine is just laying in there right now with no issues, but when I rebuild motor I'm gonna fab a bracket up for it
