I started taking safety goggles seriously after Basic Training. We were low-crawling, and someone jacked me in the left eye with the metal sling loop on the butt of his M16. It gouged my Sawfly glasses, and left a 1" groove before it slipped off the bottom and busted my cheek.

I have a similar experience. target shooting with a .22 (High Standard Victor) and it ricocheted off the metal we hang our targets off of. We use those lawn signs that have a metal H frame with the cardboard-like plastic stuff. it hit me in the ear and burned like hell.

I was a little busy instead of cheering. They'll rise back up and take the series.

yikes! i had something like that...i was doing a 'scientifical' experiment to see the difference in damage between 12ga buck shot and a slug... so i shot a tree at point blank with both, slug was fine but the buck shot came right back at me and peppered my leg arm and one in the check....smart i know. that was the same night i rolled my scout, and snapped my winch line while flipping it back over and the line whipped me right in the junk.... fun night
