Didn't work, by the way.. had to get winched lol
That's what I was gonna do on the XJ. Thinking about straight pipe on the MJ cause I have historic tags. Much cheaper if I manage to break it...

Also if you want to remove any factory equipped stuff, I.E. muffler or cat or air pump or whatever emission control devices. You need to have it registered with Streetrod tags not historic. Historic is 20 years old or older with "as factory equipped" Streetrod is 25 and older and the only guideline is that it HAS to be modified. Headlights, tailights and iluminated rear tag thats it

i honestly wouldn't mind going without a muffler, (stupid laws.....) except at higher RPM it drones like crazy.....I know this cause I did it for a day. If I could get it as loud that with a muffler I would do it. At idle it sounded amazing. I'll probably redo it eventually after its not a DD
when I ran with no muffler the pipe stopped right after the rear o2 sensor.

Word of advice, if you do run straight pipes with no muffs, be sure the exhaust exits behind the cab somewhere other wise your ears will bleed. I had header dumps on my F100 that came just under the firewall and I had to wear ear plugs to drive longer then 15 min lol

Ok so I want everyone's opinion/setup/vids if you have them on modified exhaust. I have looked through Youtube for about the past 3 hours and cant make up my mind. I hate not hearing my exhaust but I dont want it to sound like **** or be obnoxiously loud. I know Dukie and a few others are running FM muffs along with other stuff and they sound real good. So I am thinking 2.5 pipe, FM 40 or 44 and a high flow cat... thoughts?
Wish I could run a turndown after the muffler, sounds even better that way
