The front doesn't have a slip yoke. You're eliminating the slip yoke in the rear by making it use the same system as the front.
wont the front drive shaft be too short or at the wrong angle?

You don't need to worry about the front or dropping the TC. Not sure what canyons are. Use this sight to measure your back spacing.
