Hey guys, question. I'm finally putting my 8.25 rear back together. Pinion yoke grease and seal went in easily. Now I'm on to the axle bearings. I got one side in now its time to grease and seal. Which way does the seal sit? Flat side out or flat side in, so I can see that spring like strap? Sorry can post pic at the moment.

See what had happened was... I am taking out megs trans to pop in a new torque converter seal and the only thing stopping me is the exhaust, is it threaded into the manifold or just nut/bolt style? i can barely any turns on it, if its nut/bolt I'm gonna rip the sob off. thanks in advance.
