I found a site that had them all plotted in a map file for Google Earth. Its a worldwide representation of the Nike/Ajax Radar/Launch/fire centers

hmmmmm.... Not knocking your #s, but @ 1500* we melt through 1/4" steel on my job like it's butter....
and IIRC, Sparrows Point's BOF is 2000* to melt cooling scrap completely (been a few years since I worked there)....
Alloys come into play with those #s
either or, heat is BAD with steel

So am I.....
All depends on the alloys used also... 1300*F is the low range....we use 1/4" carbon steel on our upper/lower chambers, and it melts out between 1500-1600*. US steel would more than likely melt out higher due to better QC, but I haven't seen any of that on the job for years
(I'm no engineer, thats for sure )

No problem. again, glad I could help. Sorry you are so sore heh heh
I went to TSC Sunday and they were having a sale on Hobart welding supplies. I stocked up on solid wire and also broke down and read my manual for the welder. We should have flipped the drive wheel to the knurled side, I did sunday and it fed great with the flux core.

I may also have a line on a very cheaply priced 220 P-cutter. So the line starts here_________ Take a number, first come, first serve. When I find out def I will post the model and stats up here but it was used by an abatement company to do some demo work on a security door at the pentagon, so its no slouch.
