Well I picked up the Jeep because I just moved to MD and need something for winter. So for now I won't be doing anything crazy, just need it to get me from point A to B.

Bad news is, I am worried the engine may be on it's way out. I'll give more details after I do a compression and some other tests in the next couple of days. But if worse comes to worse, at least I'll get to know the truck very personally during a complete overhaul. Just need to find time to do it before winter hits.

I got mine for the same reason, but she'll have you whipped soon
"Before winter hits" is a common phrase here, too. A few of us are tryin to get our lifts done before it snows again.

Look at some of the mileages other members have been getting on their jeeps, you may be worried over nothing. The compression test will tell the tale...
I have been doing a slooooowwwww rebuild on an 88 motor, the one I have in my 89 Cherokee may be leaking a quart of oil every 1000 miles, but it starts and runs great...
As far as winters here, you get some breaks here and there.
I'm actually considering renting a garage up my way this winter so I can keep the momentum going on my builds. My mom has a 2 car garage in Harford county, just a little too far for me to access right now...

Get 2-3 cans of PB Blaster and start spraying every nut and bolt that has to be removed. Will make it easier when the time comes....
Also need jacks and jackstands. I have spring compressors, but have not needed them for the last few lifts I have done.
As far as other hardware for the lift, these guys can tell you more, I haven't even paid much attention to my XJ, as I got mine with 3 inches of lift already installed....

I'm not sure how big the lift is, but the only other thing I can think of is an adjustable track bar.

They sure do, my office is full of people just like yourself. I work on the civilian side (as does 90% of the base).

oh hell yeah, just go through and soak it good for at least a week, lol, and you will still prob break something... make sure to have a good strong cheater bar to slide over the handle of the ratchet too, lol...

I agree, and I think you said something about a xsfer case drop? It may help, it may not, depending on jeep and lift. I suggest doing it all the way and gettin a SYE, you could even use a driveshaft from the front of an XJ with it if needed, till you can measure and order one...

Ann the little things. It's funny how you get something new, no matter how small, it always makes you smile.
