Ann the little things. It's funny how you get something new, no matter how small, it always makes you smile.

3.55 most likely. Don't worry about gears, you were lacking on power probably because the engine was taking a ****. Should be much better once we get it running again after a good cleanup.

key thing about this place is A, you rent the lift, and B, NEVER USE THEIR OWN MECHANICS FOR ANYTHING
i would never let one of their people touch my vehicle, no matter what. everything those *****es touch falls apart.
morons nearly killed me last time they worked on my old explorer...only put 1 of the 5 lug nuts back on, and my wheel broke off a few days later ( this was before i knew anything about vehicles ). thank god i was only doing 25 on a back road, or id probably flipped and gotten hurt, or worse.

So, stupid question here. But seriously, can shocks be replaced without a lift or jack? Could I just take them off the way it sits and put the new ones in? Never done this before and I'm doing it in the morning.

If it is actually possible to not break any shock bolts the old ones should come out pretty easily. They will pretty much collapse once unbolted. As far as putting the new ones in, I would say you need to jack it up some.
