I am about finished with my rear bumper/tire swing build except for one detail.... I have yet to find a latch I trust/like. I want to steer away from the huge latch with a bail every one uses, it looks hokey to me. I think I am going to use a T-handle with course thread so it cleans easily and wont get jammed up with gunk like fine thread does and figure out a securing mechanism to keep the T-handle tight sort of like a castle and cotter but I want it to be adjustable so as the isolation pads wear down the arm doesnt get sloppy. Did any of that make sense? I know its a stretch but any ideas? I need to learn to draw so I can make drawings you guys can read and understand lol

What doesnt kill us only makes us stronger, some aspirin and make em tough it out lol

My g/f has a younger brother, he is 11 but has grown up with out a father figure since he was 2 so he is alittle wimpy to say the least. My buddy *Prior Service Marine* and I have been toughening him up, it is quite hysterical sometimes

I would, except they're 2 and 1 and have been running temps over 103 for 3 days now. It's time to bite the bullet and take them in, oh well. Guess that's what insurance is for.

what about a pull up latch with a ramp so you can just push it closed?

I think I found something..... Mount one of these on the arm itself, when you 1/4 turn it, it will secure into the top of the bumper and the compression will hold it against the isolators on the stop I have built

What do you think Justin?
Also found them in larger T handle style instead of the lever

looks ok - i'd be worried about the vibrations causing it to loosen up though. That could be fixed with a tack weld though...
