If your master cylinder under your hood is still completely full, it is more than likely your axle seal....if not...bingo.

If it is the wheel cylinder...your brakes will go out....if it is the axle seal...well, 1) low on diff fluid, 2) your brakes will go out....from all the diff fluid in the drum.
thats the front axle. you can see the knuckle, caliper, tie rod

Good call...I am at work right now...didn't see the picture long....

leaking caliper would be my best guess then.

A) The bearing is sealed
B) there is no outer axle seal
C) only fluid there is brake fluid in the caliper/hose.

Just picked up my new Alt, 96$ out the door after coupons. Will get another $12 off when I take the core back. Not bad for a NEW alt with the lifetime warranty.

As for helping Mava, Depending on when I can throw a set of experienced hands into the mix. I've swapped a few motors in my time, never on a jeep but hell we can make anything fit with a big enough of a hammer.

replaced mine last weekend. you need to get the side off the ground. Will need a 36mm socket and a 13mm 6point for the 3 bolts on the back of the hub. Main nut is at 175ftlbs so you need a breaker bar or impact wrench. Other than that pretty straight forward removal
