hmmm, now I'm confused. I was thinking of finding a wrecked one with not too too many miles (not in a bad way that the engine/trans would be damaged) and just pull the stuff I need. or finding one where the car/truck is in bad condition and use the parts I need and sell/junk the rest.

Mileage doesnt really matter if you have a machine shop true everything up like I have been saying, it will run you around 400 and you will essentially have a brand new virgin block when you get it back. *0 miles* Since you are going SBC *Small Block Chevy* truck motors have the thickest cylinder walls which is good *as I mentioned before about over heating issues* so even if the bores are out of round there is plenty of wall to true up with. You will be really well off if you can find one with 4 bolt mains *take off the oil pan and look at the number of bolts in the main bearing caps* 4 bolts are stronger then 2. What were you planning to run bolt on wise?

and some quick knowledge brought to you by your local google

Free shredder if anyone wants it. It's fancy and actually shreds, not just strips. Just need to patch the power cored where it was severed.
