Mileage doesnt really matter if you have a machine shop true everything up like I have been saying, it will run you around 400 and you will essentially have a brand new virgin block when you get it back. *0 miles* Since you are going SBC *Small Block Chevy* truck motors have the thickest cylinder walls which is good *as I mentioned before about over heating issues* so even if the bores are out of round there is plenty of wall to true up with. You will be really well off if you can find one with 4 bolt mains *take off the oil pan and look at the number of bolts in the main bearing caps* 4 bolts are stronger then 2. What were you planning to run bolt on wise?
and some quick knowledge brought to you by your local google

ok, that makes sense now. I probably would be looking for the 5.3L Vortec since I think that will suit the needs well. as for bolt ons. probably custom exhuast (from Harford Tire), not sure what I'm going to do with intake, probably a snorkel, just because it would be simple and space availability. might do a mild cam where I can keep the stock heads. I think that would give me plenty of power.

Its the springs and rockers you have to watch for with cam selection, too much lift will cause binding and or your piston can slap the valve.... but with a mild cam you will have nothing to worry about. 305ci Vortec is a decent platform for crawling a jeep. I got a 408ci SBF making around 570 ft/lbs and 500hp ill sell ya ![Icon Cheesygrin](https://www.cherokeeforum.com/images/smilies/icon_cheesygrin.gif)

This is why I drew attention to my forum. It allowed us to make individual threads. I have to filter through a bunch of stuff here....not complaining, love you guys....
But half of what is in here is technical stuff that should be searchable in a thread....
The other half is pure BS which is what it should be...lol
Just my $.02.
