If its just a vent, you could put a small cone filter on it. That's what I did for mine and it works fine. Just come get it so the Mosquitos will stop having babies in it!

I'll gladly defer to the wisdom of the group. I obviously have limited experience with affinity forums and had no idea what i was getting myself into. I got a Jeep from my 87 year old neighbor who is wrapping up his worldly affairs. I gave him $225 for it which was an arbitrary number we came up with because that was the dollar amount of his last service visit. We decided it would be easier that i buy it for a nominal fee rather than get into the issues of gifting with MVA. I say inherit because the reason he gave it to me is he is preparing to wind down and I am the guy who helps him in his yard, lift heavy stuff etc... He didn't offer the vehicle for sale to anyone else and i certainly didn't pay market value for it as the tires are worth more than $225. He was the only owner of the vehicle and has all service records from new.

I got on this forum to find out why it over heats. Chevy wife and Chevy guy were kind enough to come by and help me take out the thermostat and boil it and determine that it was faulty. while at my home they called the one who goes by Jakbob. He asked something about gauge placement and then determined that my Jeep was in fact harboring an illegitimate dashboard and incorrect miles and went about trumpeting that from where ever he could to whoever would listen never having seen or inspected my vehicle.

All i came on here to find was a good mechanic, some information about Jeeps and some fellowship with fellow Jeepers. If it is determined that i need to look elsewhere for that i can and will leave you to peace.

I have no other idea of what to do though when someone who hasnt seen my ride is going about making claims about it. it seems ridiculous to me it is still going on and yet no offer to stop in and have a look has been accepted.

If you prefer I take my Jeep questions and concerns elsewhere please advise. If you want to start over with a fresh look at my ride please advise. If you just want to throw stones from afar let em know and I will graciously exit.

thanks to those who genuinely helped and answered questions and reached out.
Well said. Jeff and Meg are nice people, I'm glad they met with you and helped diagnose the thermostat. Stay and the vast majority of us won't get into a pissing match with you over who knows more.

they are good people. but that statement is a little skewed (what nate quoted). jeff called me to diagnose the cooling system, i posted here and jimmy had made light of a thread on md jeep club. then someone got a bad case of SITV.

i dont know where this pissing match came from, if it came after i put him on my ignore list, eh. but from what i read of the posts prior, it was just him getting mad because i didnt believe him. its the internet. welcome.

A simple solution for those that may be scared of the dark.....

Tonight, go into your room, turn the lights off, and start masturbating. No monster wants to see that, and while doing it, stare into the corner and gently whisper, "This is for you."
