I don't intend on keeping it up there permanently anyways - it's gonna crush my gas mileage. I plan on making an angled mount for it in the back

Looking for a bit of advice on exhaust upgrades. I saw it come up a couple months ago with the youngsters but can't seem to find the comments.
Not interested in glass packs, looking for something inexpensive that will provide performance boost. Sound isn't a factor.

free flowing > sound
The catalytic converter is by far the biggest restriction. Since you have a 2001 you probably have precats though...but it'll still make a difference to replace the main one with a hi-flow model (Magnaflow is what I have). As for mufflers I like flowmasters - they have ones that are quieter than the super40 series I have though...

Flowmaster = good....www.performance-curve.com has good prices on FM, but also has their own version of the FM 40 that is ceramic coated and only $30. And they have inexpensive high flow spin cats.
