Not a bad package at all. I'd go with Uniden 520 and Firestik 4'. Just make sure you get quick disconnect and spring for the antenna. You might be able to get the radio a bit cheaper on Amazon but for package deal, go with it.

The Firestik is going to give you better quality / range. And if you add the spring and disconnect, you will get the flexibility you need and the option to take it off if you have to go through nasty brush...just my opinion, Firestik makes an awesome product.

Coil antennas like firesticks offer no better performance than your standard whip antenna. My $50 midland cb and $20 radioshack antenna will perform just as well. Besides, no one here will use their cb more than to talk to another truck in the convoy offroading.
This coming from an infantry grunt that had the pleasure of learning ASIP, SINCGARS, HARRIS, MBIRTR, and SATCOM radios in afghaniland. Our company RTO blew major *****. I blame it on his lazy eye.
