Anywho, if you only get a small antenna two things will happen;
1. Tuning will be more difficult
2. Your range will be severley limited. If the antenna isnt taller than the truck, the signal inbetween the truck and the antenna automatically gets absorbed and deadened by the truck.
Thats why i have a $20 radio shack antenna. easy as hell to tune (tuning an antenna is easier when it is more in ratio with the frequency you are using), and always in stock. Never pay for shipping.

what kind of paint is good to repaint the fender flares and the endcaps? might do that tomorrow. will also need to find stuff to sand them down as well. maybe the bumpers too. I want to clean up the blue jeep a little. the factory paint or coating was scraped off in some parts during the accident.

Jake's refering to tuning ratio. The kit comes with a SWR meter, which helps you get the Channel 1 and Channel 40 SWR equalized, under 2 SWR, which will result in better radio cabability and also not jack up your radio. Fiberglass antennas like Firestik and Wilson flex require you pull of a rubber dustcap, unscrew a small screw and hand adjust the antenna's tip. A whip antenna can be moved up and down in the base, and also trimmed if needed.
