In a small town, you run out of places quick to fill applications out for. I stopped in, filled one out for McDonalds and one for Wal*Mart. Both places turned me down for employment, even tho they were hiring, due to me just being released from prison.
Screw your race, screw your religion and disability. Felons, no matter race or religion are the largest discriminated group there is.

I'm in law enforcement and I agree...where are you applying?

I have seen applications ask, "Have you been convicted of a crime in the past five years?", and have answered truthfully, "No". Then thru the interview process they bring up my charges that are well over five years old and ask why I didn't list them. I point out what the application states, and they point out that the position has been filled and are no longer hiring.
*typing quick, I spelled "hiring" with highering, sheesh

It has been 18 years since all of that, no charges of any kind since, and to this day still have issue with in different aspects of life, employment and such. None of my crimes were violent in any way, or crimes against a person, but are treated as such.

On a side note, I just tied a tether ball with a short line to my daughters ankle and told her to kick it. She did, it was hilarious. Got to love two year olds, lol
