That stupidity will spread, she took what she was told as fact, and now thinks she knows. She will continue on, and tell these "facts" to others, and thus, spread the stupidity

Hey yall, I was in contact with you for a few days about a month ago, then abruptly stopped. The reason for this is that my transmission took a dump, and I was really busy with work (two real jobs and two side-job careers), so I have just now gotten to fixing it.

Basically, the throwout bearing needs to be replaced. I bought a LuK clutch kit and am now tearing the transmission down. This is the job from hell Most bolts are inaccessible and stuck...

Anyway, just popping back in to say hello and that I'm still alive. I promised you guys pics of my magenta two door stick shift, so here they are:

Day I bought her

New wheels and tires

And here she is carpet and seatless (today)

Mopar fun

Nothing major, a woman was asking a guy about servicing her car, and about it being in the shop. She has a Mini Cooper. He was telling her some of the reasons the repair bill was so expensive. Stuff like the power steering fluid has to be imported cause her car is foreign. That the rear sway bar makes it difficult for an alignment. Rims from a rear wheel drive car will not fit on a front wheel drive. And more, I started listening after the conversation started, about 10-15 minutes into it, I walked away.

I did all that mess, replaced everything in the whole clutch system except for the pedal itself shortly after I bought mine 6 years ago. Took me two days all said and done. Good luck, looks good

We had to cut out almost my whole exhaust system. That was the first day's problem. Today, the issue was getting those two E12 bolts on the top of the transmission. Now we're trying to get the damn thing separated from the engine. We made a lot of progress today, though. We have about 9 hours into it and almost have it dropped, and the interior is gutted. Gonna weld up some new floor pieces after the transmission is done. The guy who's helping me is a fellow XJ owner who's really big on Cherokees as well, so it's not too bad doing it since we're both having fun. His needs work as well, which is going to be next week I presume haha.

Only big issue I had was the inner "sleeve" of the pilot bearing became stuck, took a couple hours and r&d with some homemade tools to get it out

That, and after replacing everything but the pedal itself, having the pedal break in half on me, and being stuck in first gear during rush hour traffiic

Ouch. Hope I don't have those issues as well... It's already been very unfun to say the least.

Yea, I made lots and lots of u-turns that day to get home. I probably drove three miles for every one mile of progress
