For me, it ended up being an improperly torqued axle-side trackbar bolt. When I stopped on the side of the highway on the way back here from Cleveland, the bolt only had 1/4" of thread in the hole. A few more miles, and I would've lost it. From the people I've talked to, that's been the most common problem.

I had bad death wobble on my white XJ. Took forever to figure out the issue, actually gave up on it. When I bought new tires, the problem went away. Turned out the steel belt in the front passenger tire had separated. Kind of hard to blame Chrysler for that.

I blame JK owners. I've never heard anyone with an XJ/MJ/TJ/LJ complain about DW except to say that it's an inconvenience that they need to fix. And if those JK lovers are so worried, they can just convert to four wheel leaf spring suspension and shut up. This doesn't apply to all JK owners, of course. Y'all know what I mean.
We XJ owners will be able to say that we are Pre-recall jeepers lol

yep, one of the articles said it doesn't cause a complete loss of control. I'm sure a lot of people just don't expect it and panic and say they lose control....similar to what happened to the guy with the toyota problem. if only he had thought of shifting it into neutral (or out of drive in general)....he and his family could have survived. i mean it sucks to bring that up, but sometimes it's the own people's fault. in this case people are modifying their vehicle beyond their understanding.
I plan on getting everything I need so I don't need to go through stuff like this. I also am lucky enough to have another vehicle to drive if something comes up, and while working on it.
