you don't have to drain the fluid to change the pinion seal - it's done from the outside by removing the yoke.
Alright cool, noted. If we diagnosed correctly, the only two things leaking now are the rear pinion, and the oil pan gasket.

I have one you can have, its a MT but it is only good for a spare.... Worn pretty good on one side from the knucklehead who owned the jeep before me. Drove it with bad ball joints...
The one I already have mounted is going on the Cherokee so my wife has a spare.

Brakes question:
As I posted before, one(?) of my brakes squeaks with each revolution of the wheel. It's very high-pitched, and it stops if I apply the brakes, even lightly. Am I looking at the discs or the drums, and what exactly am I looking for? Trying to google the issue has given me trillions of results about a thousand different 'types' of squeak.

Can you pinpoint the "squeak"??? Front or rear??? Taking a guess, it sounds to me like an indicator rubbing or a warped rotor.

I was told (I think by dukie), that it was likely an indicator. Sounds like the left rear, but it's hard to tell. Wasn't sure if disc and drum would both squeak, or if it was likely to be a certain type of brake. Assuming it is the left rear, what should I look for?

x2 in the wear indicator - probably the front.

you should look for pads that are work down to the ...well...wear indicators

Pull the front wheels and see where your brake wear is at. There is a little tab at either the top or bottom of the pad, that is your wear indicator. If you have good pad in the front, pull a rear tire and drum and see what they look like.
Don't let it go too long, if it is an indicator rubbing you DO NOT want it to cut into the drum/rotor.

Definitely the front left, at least. I had it up on the jack and could hear it nice and loud when rotating the tire, but the lone 20mm lug nut won't come off. I'm gonna run up to Advance and see if my guy's workin to take care of it.
