Ok...got the truck fixed last night. Now...it has proper amounts of all fluids verifed.

Drove it around last night to dinner, beer store, etc...no issues.

Today...it won't stay running. Take your foot off the gas...it stalls....and won't start without giving it gas.

Any thoughts?

Jimmy, I'm am having the exact same problem. I might not be able to go this weekend if I can't figure it out.
I have to gas it to get it to start. It Idles at 1100 rpm. When I put it in drive or reverse it almost stalls. When I give it gas to move it stalls out unless I baby it.
I've replaced the TPS, IAC and distributor cap and rotor. It drove great after I replaced the IAC on Friday and I thought it was problem solved. I drove it all weekend with no problems. I just ran out to the store and it just started all over again.

Mine turned out to be the IAC...I am thinking that the antifreeze that flew all over burned up on it cause the old one was all kinds of gummy and their was a little coolant in the airbox.

She is back on the road again!

Yeesh....

I check all the vac lines today. Everything seemed in order. Where is the map located and how do I check it?

Need an FSM....on a 96 it should be on the side of the TB....

Also....when you swapped the IAC....did you clean the passages on the TB?
