Alex, agreed. That's a legitimate answer without the biting opinions.
And I was going to leave Element for those reasons, but I've decided to stay and argue with people about stupid ****. It kills time.

Come to think of it, I should have stuck with IT work, I just COULD NOT STAND working at a help desk........ I had alot of ID10T issues lol

lol.
I have a PC, girl has a mac. The mac is..ok...but nothing special IMO, more restrictive, more of a PITA to change the system settings.
I also run Ubuntu Linux on my laptop. This has advanced Linux a LOT toward usability by the average person. And it's free and continuously updated. And since it's unix based, the threat of viruses or malware is virtually non-existent.

Damn, I thought I was supposed to have 4 concurrent backups...
To be honest Jon, I have been a PC guy for everything but web design *which I don't do anymore* and I have had more lost data from HD failures then software or driver crashes.
Mac has also watered down so much of their equipment that its almost as bad as a PC now...... and I kinda support the claim about viruses if it was 5 years ago but there are alot of Mac based worms out there and due to everything being connected I.E. Mac, iPod, iPad.. if it infects one device it can spread easily to the others through iTunes *has happened to quite a few friends* Nowadays if you want to be the most safe from computer baddies you need to use something like Ubuntu and really watch what your doing on the net....

Being somewhat young, there are a few things the oldies thought was the norm back in the day. Geek Dad from Wired.com has made up a list of some of the forgotten things us younger generation may not know about or have never experienced. Below are just a few of them to get your appetite, so follow the link to read the entire list.
Audio-Visual Entertainment
Audio-Visual Entertainment
- Inserting a VHS tape into a VCR to watch a movie or to record something.*and having to rewind it*
- Super-8 movies and cine film of all kinds.
- Playing music on an audio tape using a personal stereo.
- Wires. OK, so they’re not gone yet, but it won’t be long
- The scream of a modem connecting.*my 20 year old sister didnt know what it was*
- The buzz of a dot-matrix printer*my mom used to bring back boxes of the perfed edges with the holes for us to use in our fire place lol*
- NCSA Mosaic.
- Finding out information from an encyclopaedia.
- Using a road atlas to get from A to B.
- Doing bank business only when the bank is open.
- Shopping only during the day, Monday to Saturday.
- Typewriters.
- Putting film in your camera: 35mm may have some life still, but what about APS or disk?
- Sending that film away to be processed.
- Having physical prints of photographs come back to you.
- Taking turns picking a radio station, or selecting a tape, for everyone to listen to during a long drive.
- Remembering someone’s phone number.
- Not knowing who was calling you on the phone.
