At work, the service writer likes to take a ball peen hammer and slam it against the lift to scare you. Make you think the vehicle is coming down. Well as soon as i heard about that, i let him and the manager know that doing that would be very bad for my PTSD. My manager said it wouldnt happen and that was the end of it. Until today.
I was pulling the left front inner fenderwell off of a cobalt, and bam, i heard a gunshot. So i freak out and drop to a crouch, my heart rate went up to like 190 bpm and my adrenaline was pumping. I realized it was the service writer with the ****ing hammer.
I did some breathing exercises, calmed down, but was still flipping out inside, so i went to get another tool.
I come back, and he is making fun of my disorder, even jumbling up the letters on purpose, with a big grin on his face. I snapped.
"Its ****ing called Post Traumatic Stress Disorder mother ****er, next time you want to do that **** to me, i am going to knock you in the ****ing face."
He said, "you better not threaten me, i..."
And then i went for him. My manager jumped in between us and pushed me away. I stormed outside to chill out. Later my manager came out and said that he understood why it happened, but that i shouldn't resort to violence. I apologized to him and didnt see the service writer for the rest of the day.
Still have my job. What are yalls' views on what happened?
