Mike or anyone else - do you know where I can buy steel? I'm contemplating getting a 18" or so piece of 2"x3"x.188" wall tube instead of flat stock for the top of those disconnects I'm making. I can get either from speedymetals for like $28 shipped but I'm sure i can get it cheaper if I find it locally.
Also big question along those lines - Mike did you say you have a chop saw (metal) where you work? If I get that tube I would need to section it and cut off one side.

I need to check your schedule to see when you would be available to help me out. I guess it would be easiest to use the lift over on Fort Meade plus they have all the air tools we would need. Problem is their hours.
Wednesday-Friday 1 p.m.-9 p.m.
Saturday & Sunday 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
Monday-Tuesday & Holidays- Closed
Might end up taking 2 different days and it's my only car. Might need to borrow a car from a friend of mine.

My back is f'd up right now - getting "adjusted" tonight after work, and busy this weekend.
Next weekend I pretty much have free both days if you want to shoot for then.
I would start spraying all your bolts daily with PB blaster, and if you feel the need one day when you're bored you can start breaking loose some of the bolts.
Did you ever find some tow hooks? I finally got mine.

actually - in a new development - I'm free every day next week and all weekend dependent on how my back feels. I work during the day but I'm usually home by 6:30. I have some stuff to do to so maybe we make a weekend of it or whatever.

Sounds good. I'll start pb'ing the bolts and if I have time I'll break some loose next Thursday. I'm still waiting on the Lower Control arms so hopefully they get here in time. Dirk ordered a set of 4 degree shims that he puts on every lift of this height and I was wondering if I'm going to have to get a new center bolt for the leaf springs. I have no idea how shims are installed.

Go next Wednesday or Thursday, I'm off work and I'd very much like to help (watch & learn).

sometimes shims come with a new center bolt. If not, and the one in your new springs isn't long enough, it's easy to run to ACE and grab a new socket cap head bolt for them - I pass one on my way home from work every day.

For other things though we can work weeknights. We can get the new LCAs, brakelines, and disconnects on ahead of time.
Also I have tow hooks and a gas tank skid to put on mine
