Im going to get the extended bolts now. I may wait until tomorrow since it not going to be light for much longer. I may just start taking everything apart. We'll see.
Justin, how do I make the Pitman arm is lined up to be straight and have even turns for both sides?

something to add though - DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT let the steering wheel get spun freely. It's hard to resist, but don't do it or you'll break the clockspring and be in for a world of hurt.

yea, i wouldn't turn it at all though. I tied mine down with a piece of rope so it couldn't get turned accidently.

Not sure about the XJ's, but the steering shaft was a TIGHT fit on my ZJ. I sprayed down the slider and worked the shaft up as far as it would go, then slid box in, bolted to frame and then bolted steering shaft down.
If you got a JY box, once you have "burped" your PS system (No bubbles in PS reservoir after turning wheels lock to lock several times), drain your PS fluid, put new in and do it again. This will make sure any moisture that may have made it into the donor box is removed.

I got the bolts lose on everything except the PS fluid hoses. How in the hell do you get a wrench on the one on the left closest to the engine. That thing is so close to the other fitting i can't get anything on it. I'm really not trying to break a line.

i used a super short stubby crescent on it, and gave it a good whack to loosen it. It was a PITA. Have fun.
