Miller makes amazing shiz though.

Jealous
I got a end of the model year 212 for about $1450. That was about 5 years ago so they may have gone up. I think for the welder, tank, and 50 lbs spool it was under $1700.

I've owned a esab, Lincoln 255xt, and miller 212 and for a welder I use everyday I wouldnt buy anything but miller. That being said I'm looking at a everlast tig machine. I can't justify spending 4k on a welder I won't use all the time.

Miller makes some of the best stuff out there. I can get one for a little less than 1200 with cart. I've found them online for about 1050 no cart. I'd rather stay local and purchase through the guys at the welding supply I've been dealing with for 20+ years, just in case I need to make a warranty claim I can just drop it off rather than ship it. Besides, it's pretty much free to me, 500# of scrap copper I've demo'd over the past 9 months is paying for it. ****, that and overtime paid have paid for errything on the Jeep.
I used nothing but miller at school. Wish i had the pockets for it. Hobart for me for now. No complaints about their equip either.

I have a Hobart stickmate. I'm pretty sure it's the same exact machine as the miller thunderbolt.

Ive got a handler 140 and its built the pickup, buggy, and both bumpers on the xj. At only 140 amp i left a 1/8" gap at all the welded seams on my 3/16" plate on the bumpers. So i make it work. Duty cycle is exceeded quick at 140. Just means i have a beer or two while it cools down lol. 230amp iron man would be nice but thats at miller price.

Damm!!! That's a sweet deal! Cheapest I could find it online was $1700 for just the machine and accessories no tank. Where did you score that? I'm with you on dropping more money than you should on a machine you won't use everyday, so the 211 will fit perfectly for what I need it for. Same goes for Miller over other brands, I've used various machines (predominantly Lincoln) at work and the Miller's are always better in every way.

None here either. Hobart makes solid ****. Just figured if I've got the scratch, I'm going Miller.

I bought mine from gts. It was the model right before the autoset came out. I didn't really understand how that feature would work. I think you just set your metal thickness but that doesn't account for position.
