At higher lifts it's much better. The tie rod end on the OEM style trackbar is only good for a certain range of motion. The higher you lift the more out of whack the angles get and the TRE wears our really fast.

Trackbar mount/TRE not happy:

Double Shear is happy:

i can sodder (typing phonectically lol) just fine and i have already done a lot of electrical with my jeep (C101 removal write up http://www.naxja.org/forum/showthrea...#post245423882) so im not afraid to jump in with that. its just the individual boxes are so screwed up... besides, i gotta get used to this harness cause like i said, im going to make a replacement engine harness with new plugs and everything. then im gonna make one for all of the exterior accessories, and then interior. its definitely going to be a while, but it needs to be done... i mean, i prolly have the only completely rust proof 87 waggy limited (PO had it ziebart'd) so im gonna slowly replace everything...
My harness is FUBAR'd too when I gut the engine compartment in the spring, plan on cleaning the wiring up then

How do you know that??? I haven't even hooked it up to the battery yet

I saw the 8K Superwinch yank my buddies Dodge 2500 out that was sunk to the frame. That sold me on the winch

If you want a reliable winch on the cheap, go with the Superwinch XRC8. Well worth the $299 asking price. With my ZJ being heavier I went with the XRC10

I haven't had the chance to study the wiring diagrams yet, If I can get away with it I am doing away with the ECU and going MSD for the ignition

Not touching anything on the ZJ, I have it running SWEET

The XJ is another story. I have it tagged Historic so I don't have to worry about emissions, ect. I want to simplify the harness for neatness and troubleshooting purposes, cause right now it looks like a bunch of spagetti going no where under the hood

oh yeah, same here. there is way too much slack in the harness, mine was melted everywhere. the big part will be the wiring for the fuse box under the dash, windows, all that jazz. thats why right now im just concentrating on the motor and ECU. Then it will be the TCU's turn, then everything else. i figure why not, if people can benefit from the tinkering on my jeep, might as well share.
