I guess the waggys with the D44s have it as well.
auto is 3.55 and manual is 3.07 i believe. 3.55 can be seen in my build sheet for the blue one. and Dukie said his is doing fine with the 3.07s, but that's because it is a manual and it changes things I guess.

Thats what i thought. See what happens when i put "finding my ratio" off? My tcase magically loses its breather hose, fills up with water and breaks. But finding a orange 35 tooth speedo gear kinda made me feel better.
As to why amc used a piece of plastic as a thrust washer i will never know...

My black 1989 XJ, a manual also, has 3:73 gears. The axles came out of the red 1988 I had that was auto and had factory tow package. The axles I took off the black one, did have, and still do have 3:55 gears. Not sure if it came factory with tow package or not

Yea, I have/had three autos, all of which had 3:73s, and three manuals, all of which had 3:55s.
Four autos now, but haven't checked the new red Jeep for gear ratio

That is why I thought that all autos were 3:73 and manuals 3:55, guess I was just lucky in purchases.
Will be hanging out more once the black XJ is done. Going back to working on and finishing it up. Plus, with my busted *** phone, have only been talking/texting on necessity

Easiest way, pull the speedo gear. One bolt, and the tooth count is stamped on it. At first when i saw "35" i thought 3.55. But upon research, it is actually 35 teeth with stock 29 inch tires... coming out to 3.73 gearing.

Will do it when it is not dark and raining. It's a '96 Country, should pull the VIN and send in for a build sheet.
