Interesting Jeep.
Aluminium body, 65 inch wheelbase, 1,700 pounds, independent suspension all around, front and rear Posi-Traction differentials, inboard differential mounted drum brakes, center-point steering and the aluminum V4 engine developed by American Motors. It could be shifted from 2-wheel drive to 4-wheel drive on the fly.
M422s came from the factory with all deep-water fording equipment installed, Also in its early development stage the Marines developed a lightweight flotation kit that could easily be stored on the M442 when not in need, in which four large tubes inflated by exhaust encompassed the bottom part of the frame that allowed the vehicle to swim deeper waters. The vehicles wheels provided forward motion and steering in the water.

You might want to burp it. While parked, pointed down hill, look at the right rear of the head. there is a sensor (I think for temperature) that you can remove. Fill water reservoir with 50/50 H2O and antifreeze until it starts to flow out the hole. Carefully start the sensor back in the hole (have some one help turn on and off the engine to bleed the last of the air out, reinstall sensor and you should not run hot any more (unless your thermostat is stuck).
