Who needs the Gym when you got a Jeep..

97 XJ check

just around 30 degrees check

alternator that up and dies check
4miles from my house check

running shoes, shorts and sweat shirt check

Male ego double check

retrieve tow bar and lights check

DODGE RAM check

tow the biotch home...PRICELESS..

Ok now for story time. I roll out from the house at normal time, heading down the road , radio going and the red light of check gauges comes on.. OOOH no the alternator is pegged out to the left... DAMN... so I pull over figure maybe/hopefully a fluke... shut it off and just as soon as I turned the key off... it hits me, u shouldn't have done that.. so try to restart and nada, nilch, nova... damn time to text the spousal unit who is already East bound on I 70.. So being male I decide hell can just run home only 4 miles ruffly..

So get home get towbar, lights and trusty ole dodge and off to retrieve black beauty.. which turned out to be just 3.8 miles and no I don't feel cheated.

Get home jump the beast and put the multi meter on it... sweet 14 volts... but wait that was before unhooking the jumper cables.... now a whooping 6.8 volts with out the cables from the dodge. so now the beast is idle'n like a Harley on one cylinder..

so now time for a decent breakfast and shower at home then off to work..

please enjoy story time... be good and be safe..

MORAL of the story take Sweat pants next time...

Poll time....I need to drive to NC for Thanksgiving and I'm trying to decide if I should go 50W/495S/95S/295S around the dc beltway and past Alexandria and Lorton or should I go 301S/95S/295S down past Waldorf and King George?

The gf wants to leave right after work on Wed at 4pm and sit in traffic instead of leaving at 4am on Thanksgiving so I'm trying to find the best way down to avoid traffic. I usually take the 301 route but I've heard the extra lanes south of DC really help.

That's what I'm leaning towards unless I can convince the gf to leave at 4am on Thursday.

In my experience you won't find that many good deals on shotguns at the show. You can try calling multiple dealers and check their prices. For shotguns in MD you can't beat Walmart or Dick's but your money doesn't stay local. Dicks even has a special order catalog and will order whatever you want and it will arrive in 3-5 days.

Or you can find yourself a good dealer and pick a local shop and keep your money local but it may cost you a little bit more. I use 2A Sales in Jessup. Right up the road in Elkridge there is a dealer that has a large selection of shotguns called Accurate Pawn.

What are you using the shotgun for? Home defense or hunting or both? If you're hunting are you using it for deer or birds? Will you ever shoot skeet?

If you are looking for a pump, I like the Remington 870 if your budget can afford it. If not you always have the Mossberg 500 which has an unlimited aftermarket.

I do want a pump, mix of both defense and hunting. Only fowl hunting and clays though. *I have a Remington 700 when I go out for food on the ground.* I don't want to say I have an unlimited budget but I don't mind investing in something that will last. I had considered the Mossberg but I have shot my buddy's Remington 887 Nitro Mag and really liked it.

Just not sure how well a 26" barrel is for home defense, though in most cases the cycling of the action is enough for **** to be deposited in the intruders pants lol

All the mossberg 500's can change barrels and stocks to be for hunting or home defense. I love mine.

Looks to be in great shape....hate to say it....I would potentially trade my XJ for it....

But only because I know I could find another XJ.....
