Went to home depot to look for some 7/16 washers, which has become quite the hunt and came out to this.

home depot doesn't carry them - been there, done that. Lowe's has them as does ACE Hardware

For the trip home, I'll be taking one 33" wheel/tire, four 15x10 wheels, and picking up four 33x12.5x15 tires on the way there. Plus luggage and food. I'm considering the best way to organize, and I'm wondering the simple way to tie-down a 33 straight to the roof. I don't have a rack, but I've seen people do it. I'm just not sure where they run the ratchet straps.

I've tied mine down to the roof before. I just ran the hooks to the cross bar mounts, and slid the bars up against the front and back of the tire so it wouldn't move

That's what I was thinking, but I'd heard before that you aren't supposed to tie to those. Seemed like strange advice to me. Thanks.
