Spent about $45 on Royal Purple ATF for my transfer case earlier. No big deal to me, id rather use the best. Guy behind the counter goes 'jeez, what the hell is this for?' I told him and he said 'oh yeah, ive seen that problem before' My response: 'really? Funny story is, im doing preventive maintenance' He said 'oh, thats a good idea i guess. '
20 year old parts guy thought he knew everything. Grr.

The dexIII typically isn't sold under that name anymore - but you're looking for "multi-vehicle ATF" or something like that.

It'll work. Although IMO Royal Purple isn't worth the price you pay...especially if you haven't been using it since the car was new. But that's your call.

I like redline and amsoil but like many have said you won't see a huge difference in performance for the price. Just buy what you like or can afford.
