I ran the amp power cable through the firewall via a handy grommet on the passenger side. That keeps it on the battery side and saves you some cable length. See the picture for the position in my son's 98 XJ. I used a 0/1 gauge wire and it fit through there ok. I also ran the signal to relay lead (blue wire) for the ghetto fogs I got from VatoZone through the same grommet. You can see the relay mount and ground on the right.
FWIW, instead of running the amp power lead to the battery post, I used a ring terminal to attach it under the pd block on the stud that connects the battery + to the alternator hot. It's electrically the same as the batt pos and declutters the battery top. Good luck!

Can't wait to try these hot loads I did yesterday. 110gr Barnes tac-tx with 46.5 gr of 3031 in a win .308 case and win LR primer. Gotta borrow a chrony but should be in the 3350fps range.
Buddy has a groundhog problem, and his .22LR isnt cutting it. I offered to help with my Rem 700

nate (new nate) you can follow me down on the 12th.
as for ground hogs and .22s. you have to hit them in the throat if you want a one shot kill with a .22. we use subsonic hollow points here. so it makes no noise basically and theyvwork great
