Took on the Avital 5103 Remote Start/Alarm system this weekend. Overall, it was pretty straightforward but my old eyes had some real challenges seeing the color codes on the small wires in the driver's kick panel. Had I taken the time to test the wires for lock & unlock I would have finished the job in 4 hours. Hood pin was a beyotch. Tested it after the Super Bowl last night and it has good range and functions great. Not a bad system for $80 all in.

I've been considering a Viper system because of the two way features and a couple of the system addons for some time but am hesitant to start messing with the electrical system. On the other hand I'm thinking a simple kill switch might work be just as effective.
