Not the balancer itself, but there is a front main seal behind it. Seals the pan to the crank. Simple fix.....

Well the balancer is bent so I'm hoping that what it is.

If you have liability only on Barney then its out of pocket, if you have full coverage then you have the option of out of pocket or through the insurance company.

With tax returns I can fix it. Think I'm going to have oliver plate my unibody. Not sure what I'm doing bumper wise, very happy with JCR.

Dude....were you on your dad's insurance? This may be able to be totalled with the front frame rail damage. The way that bumper bent, but the brackets held....no way the unibody is not hosed.


In case it is not.....hands down best place to buy XJ body stuff....

The hardest part is figuring out the damage to the engine. If you hit hard enough to bend the balancer, you may have done some serious damage to the engine.

I am NOT trying to scare you or anything. You have decisions to make. In order to test that engine you need to free it up....get everything out of the way....then you have to do repairs to the bracketry and radiator prior to starting it. Pretty sure to put in a new radiator, you will need a new core support. You will not get a new core support even IN until you bend the unibody back to it;s original shape. Now....once you fix ALL that so you can safely run the engine long enough to truly assess the engine, the engine COULD be toast.

The decision you need to make is....go forward with THIS JEEP? Or move on, part it out, get another one, and learn from this mistake.

Again, I am not trying to scare you, but give you a realistic view of what you are looking at. It is NOT as simple and rosy as everyone trying to make you feel better is making it sound.

As always, I am trying to be helpful even though my comments may hurt a little.

Hurts a lot, but you are right. I just need to think on it. If that be the case I have $1000 for a new one.

well that last bolt is bent and i have no idea how to get it out....

and aaron, either fix barney or get another and transfer everything over. part the rest out. you have options. just gotta figure out what you want to do
