you touched up after the rocks at RC, I nailed and scrapped my bumper across a metal fence post.... no touch up here As the selling point for powder here at work we have two pieces of schedule 40 pipe powder coated and beat the hell out of them together and it doesnt chip off.. stuff is damn near indestructible when prepped and cured properly.
Why clear coat??
"High grit" ... you mean heavy grit? Higher the number the finer the grit. In my experience you want heavier/courser grit for mechanical anchor for the paint otherwise it tends to flake off rather easy
