In theory can I just swap the gears with Tims axle?

In theory, you can do a D60/14 combo. It doesn't make it cost-effective.

Now D30 carriers, I don't think that would be a problem.

You would need a master install kit = $90 or so....

in theory yes

in reality, each case is different. You need to re-setup the gears in the new axle housing.

Did you figure out if you need a new axle in Kool Aid? Not just control arms/brackets?

Verified? If you pop off the unit bearings, take the axles out, run a long rod through the axle, you can tell for sure.
