Thank ya!

I had a .308. A reloaded brass casing I did split in the chamber and blew up in my hands. .30-30 is good for ~50yds around here, .308 a little more, .30-06 a little more- like 100 yds

I was leaning more towards the .308. In all seriousness most people have a .30-06. My grand father doesnt hunt anymore so he has one i could use too.

well, I have a 30-.06, I love it. So thats what i would recommend. It puts em down.
Next, you need to take the MD hunter safety course. I believe it can be done online. I took mine at a local shooting range. Then you need to pass the test. Then you can buy a hunting licsence in MD. Then it's happy hunting.

They are a good caliber, pretty powerful. I just bought a savage .223 for target shooting.

I already have my MD hunter safety. And now that im 18 i wanna buy a gun.

My problem is finding somewhere to hunt. We have property in Dorchester but it isnt the greatest anymore. And shotguns only. I have 2 of those. 12 gauge pump in camo, mossberg, and a 20 gauge pump wood, remington 870.

Sweet man. Glad to here it. Be safe. If you start frequenting the shooting range or join a hunting forum you'll meet people. Or you can ask local farmers or property owners if you can hunt there land. You'd be surprised how many people are looking for deer hunters.

Maybe Steve could hook me up? Only been hunting a few times because my Dad doesnt go often. Never killed anything but 2 geese on a trip I won at DU when i was younger.

The farms around me all have a bunch of people hunting them. The HS i went to was a lot of hunters and rednecks.

I need to get my bow all fixed up too. Sights are messed up, the front weight, and the tension.
