I would suggest that you run them to a power distribution block with the power connected to the alternator hot lug with appropriate grounds done to the battery (-) screw on the fender or freshly tapped to the frame. Running to the battery is fine electrically but tends to clutter the terminal space unless you have top and side terminals. Without knowing the current draw from the lights and spots, I can't say if you need a beefier alternator but it couldn't hurt. You should also plan on upgrading your battery/alt cables by doing the "big four".

That could be arranged. What year is your XJ? Does it have factory fogs? Any other aftermarket electrical goodies on it? Unless I missed something at those two links you'll need two switches, two relays, three inline fuse holders with 5A mini fuses, waterproof terminals, 10' of 12AWG wire and some loom.

Seriously, I have a pretty good stock of connectors etc. and the tools required to do electrical work on 12v systems.

Do your systems work now? If all of your accessories and the balance of your electrical system functions, you might think about covering up the distributor and alternator with plastic bags and CAREFULLY steam clean or power wash that mess. Spray some Simple Green or Purple Power in there and let it work for 15 minutes. Rinse & repeat. Dry your engine bay out with a leaf blower afterwards and let it sit for a couple of hours. If your stuff doesn't work then you're going to have to clean it anyway before you can start diagnosing/repairing.

Olympus doesn't sell 4in rounds, the reason I want 4in rounds is so i can get silicon amber lens covers from orangeaftermarket.com and essentially have two different sets of lights
