we have a family friend who owns a condo down there near 112th street that I can probably get. though it's a 2 bedroom condo with a sleeper couch in the living room.

Yes we do need to meet first, and I'd be willing to split rent of course

repeat any name over and over for a few minutes and it becomes silly.
we don't need no education... guess i'm not totally against all the fictional characters that bring kids stuff in the middle of the night since it seems to be fun for them. when it needs to end is when the kid questions it. no more "well you see johnny, the REAL santa has many helpers". it should be "good job johnny, you saw thru the b.s. There's a lot more where that came from so let's get to work on understanding some of the more intricate lies authority figures have been telling since the beginning of time."
most of my 5am arguments are haha. so i guess it should be the easter platypus. while we're splitting hairs, if any catholics get a craving for meat on friday next lent, go shoot yourself a beaver. the church considers it a fish. (or did at one point...maybe they've changed their stance.)
if you've not yet seen it, you will probably enjoy this.
on top of transport, that would make a great recovery vehicle.
like to get out that way when i can but don't really wheel much flying solo in a stocker. and this isn't in va but hawk campground in wv is pretty nice. not sure how close it is to trails but they have a pretty big nice open (stargazing) group campground that's free (i think). the individual sites are free anyhow. just paste in google maps/earth and have a look around. 39.116584, -78.499443
