welcome. so if youre moving to cali you should probably just lift the front of your jeep 3" and leave the rear cali lift....
since you don't plan on getting to crazy with the jeep i would suggest coil spacers up front and shackles in the rear. cheap, effective and you can fit bigger tires

Hey guys, I've had my jeep now for a couple years stock and I'm thinking its finally time for some work on it. I want to get some kind of 3" lift but for one I am a broke college student and secondly, I don't really have any experience working on cars. I was wondering if anyone had some suggestions on cheap lifts or anyone would be willing to help me do the install. I could pay someone (less than they want at shops) or supply beer or something...

Coils
New leaf springs
Shocks
Longer brake lines, or re route you existing ones
Longer sway bar links
And with a 2000 you might need a sye but your not going to offroad a tc drop would be alright.
I feel like I'm missing something, someone chime in.

So I'm building a early to mid 90's setup and trying to make a decision on an amp and eq.
I've got a Alpine 7292 headunit with one set of rear preouts. From what I remember and the research I've done I need to run those outs into a EQ that can separate front/rear/sub then I can run those to the appropriate setup on the amp and mod the signal from there.
I've got a bead on an Alpine ERE-G180 and a Sony XE-9MKII but can't decide which to go with. Opinions?
Amps on the other hand I have about 5 I'm looking at between Pheonix Gold, JL, Fultron, and PPI but the leader atm is a Fultron. Anyone ever run a fultron way back when and if so would you recommend it?

never used an eq back in the day but it sounds like you want to run 2-3 amps off the signal from one rca out? should work fine although i'd probably go w/ a true outboard xover rather than one built into an eq. most audiophiles will say that a system is only as good as the weakest link in the chain so you should try and have as few links in the chain as possible. if not running multi amps, i'd stay away from the eq but that's just me.
never heard/heard of fultron but there were alot of manufacturers back then and the price is def. right. can't go wrong w/ older PPI...don't recall exactly what year they threw sound quality out the window. other amps from that era worth considering would be hifonics, mmats, soundstream's reference stuff or a/d/s if you can find em. lanzar's opti stuff was good but i always hated the design for power and ground not having terminals on the amp...wires just ran straight into it. heck rockford and mtx made solid stuff back then compared against most of the big box stuff you find now a days. this isn't my listing but i have this amp in very good condition. 100 bucks if you want it. http://www.ebay.com/itm/PRECISION-POWER-PCX-250-AMP-2-CH-PPI-200W-RMS-400W-MAX-AMPLIFIER-/181121157970?pt=Car_Amplifiers&hash=item2a2ba98b52
