never heard/heard of fultron but there were alot of manufacturers back then and the price is def. right. can't go wrong w/ older PPI...don't recall exactly what year they threw sound quality out the window. other amps from that era worth considering would be hifonics, mmats, soundstream's reference stuff or a/d/s if you can find em. lanzar's opti stuff was good but i always hated the design for power and ground not having terminals on the amp...wires just ran straight into it. heck rockford and mtx made solid stuff back then compared against most of the big box stuff you find now a days. this isn't my listing but i have this amp in very good condition. 100 bucks if you want it. Damn Abe thanks for the knowledge. My goal is to run 1 multichannel amp for surrounds and subs. Like you mentioned the eq would really just be there to break the signal down so I can run it to the proper channel.

I've seen a few 8 channel ADS amps running around and the others you mentioned. Considered going PPI art route but the multi is just too much $$. JL 500.5 is an option but the back channels only get 25w. Really the only drawback there.

Fultron is Memphis before they changed their name in 97/98 and the amp i'm looking at was their flagship. From what i've read it received numerous awards at CES and rivaled PPI. Buts this is the internet... What it does offer is stupid amounts of power. 75x4 and 150x2 at 4ohm at 2ohm you get 150x4 and 300x2

I've got a bead on an Alpine ERE-G180 and a Sony XE-9MKII but can't decide which to go with. Opinions?

Amps on the other hand I have about 5 I'm looking at between Pheonix Gold, JL, Fultron, and PPI but the leader atm is a Fultron. Anyone ever run a fultron way back when and if so would you recommend it?
You need a crossover to separate the frequencies not an EQ. I've been running my ppi amps since 96-97.

I have the audiocontrol 3xs and ppi art series 600a2 and 400a4. I think that's the model numbers.

and just throwing a link out for anyone that might want some budget bass...a buddy way back in the day built this thing and it was extremely impressive. http://www.decware.com/newsite/DBK10II.html

it kicks like a mule w/ just about anything you put in it.

i know bandpasses sacrifice sq for spl but if you don't listen to alot of blues and jazz, and want to rock out on a budget, who cares.

for 30 bucks i'd say it's worth a shot. just bridge the rear to run your sub and run your front speakers off the amp in stereo...or fronts and rears off the front channels of the fultron at 2 ohms. know how many volts your headunit gives you for the rcas? if it's a beefier 4volt one, i wouldn't worry too much about just splitting the signal to 4 channel and just bumping the amp's gain up a little. should work ok w/ that much power on tap.

I have 2 10" JL audio's for sale if anyone is interested. They're wired in series but you should wire them in parallel.
